Holy! Has it really been 3 yrs?!?!?

Well it has been about 3 years since my last post. Yes I am the most diligent blogger and journal writer ever (please note my sarcasm).

So in the last few years we have had baby number 2. He is now almost 2! Haha. The differences between 1 and 2 are incredible. They don't even look like siblings. 1 is dark haired and eyed. Cautious and sensible. Also a little type A. 2. Is light, light, light with blue eyes. They have different shaped everything ! It's crazy. He also has zero sense of self-preservation. I love his attitude of try everything once... Then twice.... Then three times. He just figures out a way that doesn't hurt. Even if it takes him 100 attempts. This is definitely hard on us parent folk.

Here is a pic of him

Now 1 is 4 years old! When the heck did that happen?!

He is learning his numbers and letters and is super interested in how much everything costs and what time it is. In fact, one of my favourite things he has said is this.

"Mom, I'm excited for Christmas because Santa just brings me toys and doesn't care how much they cost."

Yep. That's him alright.

We recently just moved into a new home. Bigger, not low income, there is coloured paint on the walls, and white floor boards. Plus the kitchen is twice the size! I can fit all my Tupperware in it! It's the little things that make me happy.

As for D, he finally graduated university! Yahoo. With a degree in German Language studies and a certificate for German translation.

He is now at the end of the Edmonton Police service application and we are currently waiting to hear whether or not he got accepted. This is the second time he has applied. The first, they deferred him so he could finish his degree. Which he did. We are hopeful! I can say this for sure, I never thought I was gonna marry a cop.

D is really into martial arts and learning more indepthly about the scriptures. He teaches our boys all sorts of things. They live to wrestle with each other and play hide and seek.

As for me, I am still a Tupperware lady, mostly so I can get it at wholesale. I am the camp director for Yw this year, and wow. I appreciate my mom and all the work she put into my camps over the years. It's so much work, but it's like fun work. If that makes sense. I am currently doing a 90 days to a healthier me blog. Trying to get in better shape cuz my boys can out run me. Aha. No good.

What else!?  Oh yes, my brother M lived with us for 6.5 months to get ready to serve a mission for our church. He is gone now just about 10 days into the mission field and serving the people in the Vancouver Canada mission. I am so proud of him.

But yes, that's pretty much a catch up of our lives the past few years. Here are a few more recent pics.

I will be blogging more frequently now. Especially since mine and leto's best friend moved far away. B and Leto were just the best of buds. They would wrestle together, launch cars all over the house, chase each other until they fell over and they even had their own language. It was so much fun watching then grow together. So maybe this way B can keep up with Leto a little. :)

So ya! That's the crazy life of us! Talk to ya soon.

Artist in the making

So this morning, I didn't want Leto to watch Lion King AGAIN. It has been his movie of the week, where he wants to watch it everyday... as much as I let him. And so, to try and distract him, I stipped him down to his diaper, and I set up a canvas and paint palette (bought from the dollarstore for $2.00) and let him go to town! And this is what happened!

The final masterpiece:

This is quite the work of art! And it will be placed in Leto's Museum (A.K.A. his bedroom).

To watch him painting, here is a video!

And it begins!

The day after Halloween was over, I took down all the decorations and began the long-waited Christmas preparation. I really only have a few decorations for a tree, and nothing festive for my home, and so this year my goal is to make a bunch of stuff to help my home be a beautiful refuge from the cold, dismal winter.
I am beginning with Christmas cards (however they aren't going to be decorating my house.) This year I am making my own - SUPER FUN. The first few are well... ok, but the last few are ones I can be proud of. I cannot however own up to all of my ideas. Many of the templates I found on pinterest ,and modified to my own OCD-ness. Here are a few pictures of my creations!

I am going to get a nice picture of the Savior to put in here. $6.00 gift. The frame was only $1.00 from Michaels. Painted brown and then covered in Champagne sparkle paint. The letters are wooden - from the dollarstore and painted in the sparkle paint as well.

These are snowmen and (fake ornaments) made from Styrofoam balls from the Dollarstore. They are painted either White, red or green. The snowmen faces are drawn on using pen, marker and crayon (for the rosy cheeks). The ornaments are covered in white yarn.

A card that got left out of the picture taking. I love glitter!

The red and green cards. My favorite is far right 2nd down. It says let it snow.

The blue cards !! My favorite one is the Let it Snow with the 2 snowmen holding hands.

More pictures to come as they are created!

Happy Halloween!!

Well another Halloween has come and gone and this year there was NO SNOW!!!

AMAZING.

To start Halloween off right, we decorated. Natalie, my sister in law came over and we hung spider web after spider web. Which kind of shocked Deiter because i absolutely HATE spiders... well I guess its not so much a hate, but an "irrational" fear that they are out to get me. We got pretty creative and actually made a spider web from streamers on my ceiling. I felt so good about the decorations... I almost wanted to pin them on pinterest. But alas I have not.

With all the decorations, it was only right to throw a party. We had a few friends over, ate some food and played some more or less halloween themed "Minute to Win-it" Games. Absolutely hilarious! I won't post any pictures of other people to protect their privacy... but here is a couple of Deiter.

Overall the party turned out great! We went to bed late and slept in... Just how a party should end!

Trick or Treating!

Leto was old enough to take trick or treating this year and so we took him to a couple of houses, cause really that boy doesn't need sugar. He has enough energy as it is.

As a family we adopted the Toy Story characters. Deiter was Woody.

I was Jessie.

And Leto was the Pizza Planet Alien that saves ALL the toys in Toy Story 3... quite the unrecognized hero in my opinion.

As a Family of Cow-people... and aliens... we pretty much rocked.

Leto was unsure of his first trick or treat encounter. He was a little hesitant at first as a lady, whom he knows very well tried to convince him to take some of their candy. She put some in the bag, and then told him to take some. He took one, and she said take some more. When he realized he could help him self, that is indeed what he did. He started piling in the candy! filled his bag 1/3 of the way full in 1 house! How awesome.

The next stop was his Jami's (Deiter's mom). He went right up to her bowl and picked a bag of candy, not just one. I think he is getting the essence of Halloweening.

We had one more stop to make and by this time his (18 month old outfit) was starting to come undone. Instead of helping himself he let them do the work and we opened his bag as more piled in. Needless to say he has enough candy to last us all a very long time.

And now, after his sugar rush has ended he has crashed hopefully for the night.

The Molcaks wish you all a great and safe Halloween night!

Un-creative craftiness

These past few months have been the most crafty of months for me. I have done maybe 6 or 7 projects without any need for creativity! My secret is PINTEREST! and I LOVE IT.

So I have started finding hobbies, as I am a stay-at-home mom and I thought maybe I would take up baking at first... but lets face it. I eat what I make, and well that just doesn't go well with the scale. So then I stopped baking and was again in need of a hobby. I thought maybe learning to play the piano. i started taking lessons, but wow did i find it hard to find the time to practce! (just as I did when i was younger..) So piano was out. Then I thought well maybe I will take up working out... need i say more... exercise out. So one day after a Young Woman's activity my friend mentioned Pinterest. And lets just say I have FOUND MY HOBBY!

CRAFTING!. I have a really small home right now and limited wall space, but I have found things to do to help make my home feel more like a home.

The awesome thing about my newfound hobby, is that I can go to the website, pick something I want to do (usually with stuff already found around the house). Sit down after the dishes are done (and sometimes before) and when the kids are in bed and create something from nothing.

I know that for me creating has always served as a great self-esteem and mood booster. As does cleaning... ironically enough. And so these past few months as I have been creating new things I have had a greater sense of purpose and "love" for myself. Everything in my life has gone better. I am more apt to reading my scriptures, fulfilling my callings and taking care of my husband and son. I am not afraid to volunteer to do projects, because of this new found confidence. I know i can do them!

So basically this has been my past couple of months, and as Halloween and Christmas are quickly approaching, the crafting will probably kick into high gear!

Next undertaking: SEWING! Woohooooo .... We will start with stockings and go from there.

Leto's development for Summer 2010

So far, Leto is giggling, smiling like crazy, following and concentration on objects, recognizing important people in his life (mom, dad, grandparents.. etc). And on the 28 he rolled over from his back to his front! He has rolled over from his front to back when he was 2.5 months old. My theory is that he really hates being on his back, so he figured out how to get to his stomach. But now he can roll around the house. It is kind of funny to watch. He is getting so big! at his 4month immunizations he is 14.5 lbs. so he has almost doubled his birthweight. He is growing so much. His eyes are kind of turning into a grey-brown-green color. We are unsure at this point which direction they will turn for the rest of his life, but it is exciting to wait and see! He is standing fairly strongly, granted we are holding his hands for balance. and he talks like craazy. not words... just the ooohs and ahhs and ah-gooo. It is absolutely adorable. I love spending every minute with him. He is sucha great baby! he rarely gets fussy and smiles all the time. He is very social. He likes to look around and watch people. When we take him to a store, as long as he is upright he is the most perfect child. He just looks around at everything. Sometimes I wish I could be like a baby again, where I found joy in the simple things of life. I guess I can strive for that.

Anyways, so far that is what Leto has been up too!

Home at last!

So now we are pretty much moved in to our new home. And although we have only been here a couple of days it feels more like a home than any of the other places we have lived in so far! I am still tryingt o rid myself of the managerial habits I developed over the last two years, such as... trying to keep my cell phone around me at all times, avoiding answering ppl knocking at the door, feeling like I need to be home at all times, etc. etc. I am out of my prison and I can't be more excited!
We have finally put all the pictures up that we have been moving around since we were married and i love how my new home looks! It is a place I actually don't mind staying in for periods of time. It is great! So the move is over, and we are home at last!
